Mr. Doug Hertz of United Distributors commissioned this portrait of four generations of his family. His two children are in the background (young man with blue shirt and young lady with flowered dress). Moving forward from them are his grandmother, seated, and his grandfather (red tie). To the right is Doug and wife and the foreground features Doug’s parents. Rossin and Doug are standing to the left of the painting.
Fortunately, Rossin had access to the house where Doug grew up and was able to study the family living room which is the setting of the painting. Because only the youngest Hertz children and their parents were present to photograph, Rossin used pictures provided to him of the remaining family members as reference and masterfully inserted them into the painting.
The family proudly displays this masterpiece in the boardroom of their company.
